Built atop a former landfill and within throwing distance of the NJ Turnpike, you might not think it’s a park worth visiting, and you would be mistaken. Featuring 3.5 miles of walking trails and restored wetlands set against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline, nearly 300 species of birds have been observed in the park. Don’t miss the Marsh Discovery Trail, a 1/2 mile boardwalk path through a tidal salt marsh. The park also has a World Trade Center Memorial Grove.
